Grilled peach with gorgonzola

These grilled peaches are the perfect addition to any breakfast or dessert. The melted Gorgonzola cheese on the peach creates the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The baked peaches also go very well with French toast or pancakes.
Ingredients
  • 6 fresh peaches
  • 50ml maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 100g Gorgonzola cheese
  • 100g fresh blueberries
preparation
  1. To start, cut the peaches in half and remove the stone; the shape of the peach is very important for the recipe. Then place the peaches in a resealable container and add the ground nutmeg, cinnamon, maple syrup and lemon juice. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and let the container rest for about 1 hour.
  2. Preheat your grill to high so that the grill reaches a temperature of approximately 316°C. Brush your grill grates generously with vegetable oil and reduce the heat to medium before you start grilling. Place the peaches face down on the grill for 5 minutes, then turn the peaches and pour the maple marinade over them. Grill the peaches until soft, then place the peaches on a warming rack and spread them with Gorgonzola cheese. Finally, place the peaches back on the grill to melt the cheese.
  3. Remove the peaches from the grill and let them cool slightly before topping them with blueberries.
